Lane writes "Michael is not a Siddhartha but more of a Sad Arthur."
I know about Siddhartha but where does "Sad Arthur" come from?

"Sad Arthur" shows up in a Roger Angell New Yorker piece which is a parody of Hesse's book. Sad Arthur, for example, goes by the New Jersey Turnpike to meditate. There he hears the mantra "Zoom" "Zoom" over and over again. Finally after much soul preparation he reaches, not nirvana, but nevada.
